In the Community

Our work doesn't end at the office. We always look for opportunities in the community to help. We call these projects ISPs (Independent Service Projects). They can range from helping feed the homeless to assisting with adoption days with animal rescues to volunteering at Preparedness Events.
We Feed Our People

We volunteered on MLK Day with We Feed Our People! We left our housing at 6am to be on time and to help prepare food that would later be distributed to the homeless population of Washington D.C.

Mutt Love

Everyone loves dogs on Eagle 6, so when Project Outreach Liaison (POL), Kristen Lalley, found a dog-related ISP, we were thrilled! We showcased dogs to potential adoptees.

Preparedness Event

Sometimes, we even work with other teams at ISPs. At the Marian Koshland Science Musuem's Prepare-A-Thon, FEMA Corps members showed patrons how to download the FEMA app, what to put in a Go! Kit, and what paperwork should be filled before a disaster occurs!

Testimonial

“Volunteering keeps me sane. It doesn't matter how you help, as long as you are doing something.... I just like knowing I can directly impact people.”

Stephanie Guerrero, FEMA Corps member of Eagle 6
